Submit a request for assistance.

The association Un Cœur Qui Agit reviews requests for assistance concerning vulnerable populations living mainly in rural or outlying areas of sub-Saharan Africa.

All requests are registered and reviewed impartially, without favouritism or personal intervention. However, submitting an application does not guarantee that the project will be accepted or funded. The decision will depend in particular on urgency, feasibility, available resources and the association’s priorities.

Before submitting your application

Check the list of documents to provide for your type of request, then fill in the form below.

For any request for a borehole, a well, or the construction or rehabilitation of a school or health centre in a rural area of sub-Saharan Africa, the application must include:

  • An official letter presenting the request;
  • At least two authorisations or certificates issued by local authorities, including the village chief, the mayor, the prefect or any other competent administrative authority;
  • The full contact details of the authorities that issued the documents;
  • Recent and sufficiently clear photographs of the site;
  • Recent videos showing the site and the living conditions of the population;
  • The address or precise location of the site;
  • GPS coordinates, where available;
  • A document specifying ownership, provision or the right to use the land;
  • A detailed description of the needs;
  • The number of people concerned;
  • An estimate of the cost of the project;
  • Dated, detailed, signed and, if possible, stamped quotes;
  • The local community’s commitment to take part in monitoring, protecting and maintaining the facility;
  • For a water access request, any technical or hydrogeological study or available information on the presence and quality of water;
  • For a school or health centre, documents attesting to the need, the future use of the building and the agreement of the competent services.

The indicative review period for a complete application is eight months to one year. This period only starts once all the requested documents have been received. A check or a site visit may be organised before any decision.

For requests concerning in particular school supplies, food aid, clothing, sanitary products, emergency medical care, farming equipment, wheelchairs or any other equipment for people with disabilities, the application must include:

  • A letter explaining the request precisely;
  • Proof of identity of the applicant or the beneficiary;
  • A certificate from a local authority, a social service, a school, a medical centre or a recognised organisation;
  • Recent photographs showing the situation;
  • Any certificate, quote or document useful for reviewing the request;
  • The full contact details of the beneficiary or their representative;
  • An estimate of the cost of the assistance requested.

The indicative review period for a complete application is six to eight months. This period may vary depending on urgency, the checks required, the country concerned and the association’s available resources.

The form must allow you to attach:

  • Documents in PDF format;
  • Photographs in JPG, JPEG or PNG format;
  • Videos or a secure link to view them;
  • Quotes;
  • Official certificates and authorisations;
  • Any other useful supporting document.

Documents must be legible, complete, dated and, when issued by an authority or organisation, signed and stamped.

Incomplete applications cannot be reviewed. The association may ask for additional information or supporting documents.

The applicant certifies that they have obtained the consent of the people who can be recognised in the photographs or videos sent.

For minors and people under legal protection, written authorisation from the parent or legal representative is mandatory.

Images sent for the review of the application will not automatically be published. Separate authorisation must be obtained before any use on the website, social networks or the association’s communication materials.

If anyone makes such a demand, do not pay anything and report the facts immediately to:

The report should, if possible, include the name of the person concerned, the date, the amount demanded, the messages exchanged and any available evidence.

Anyone involved in such practices is liable to internal measures and, depending on the seriousness of the facts, to being reported to the competent authorities and to prosecution under the law of the country concerned.

Important information

Every complete application is registered and reviewed according to the same criteria. You do not need to be recommended or to have “connections” to submit a request.

The periods stated are indicative. They are neither a promise of acceptance nor a guarantee of funding. The association may refuse, postpone or redirect a request depending on its mission, its financial capacity, the checks carried out and humanitarian priorities.
